WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT REM SLEEP

What is REM sleep?

REM stands for rapid eye movement,it is a kind of sleep that occurs at intervals during the night and is characterized by rapid eye movements,more dreaming and bodily movement,and faster pulse and breathing.

ONE 

Eyes are closed,your eyes will move slower under your eyelids, and your muscle activity will slow down but you can be easily awakened by a noise or a sound.


TWO
 This is the stage of light sleep and lasts 10–25 minutes.  eye movement will stop completely,  heart rate will slow and  body temperature will decrease.The body is getting ready for deep sleep.

THREE
Deep sleep stage harder to wake up and if  woken up, the person will feel disoriented for a few minutes. In this stage, your brain waves are very slow and blood flow is directed away from your brain to your muscles, which restores physical energy in your body.
    
                                         IMPORTANCE OF REM SLEEP

During the deep sleep stage,the body repairs and regrows tissues,builds muscle,strengthens the immune system.
